Science and Politics Part 2

Their is a great amount of literature on science and politics.  Two common terms, "scientization of policy" and "politicization of science", are mutually reinforcing social processes.

For this assignment find create an annotated bibliography of 4-6 articles describing one or both of these processes in your chosen topic of study.  

It is possible that you may not find articles specifically describing these phenomenon related to your topic.  This is ok.   Instead, find examples related to your topic that fit the description of these processes.

It is unlikely but though possible, that your topic of interest is not politicized.  If so, through an annotated bibliography explain why your topic is so straightforward and does not suffer from this sociopolitical complexity.

Brooks Surgan is a candidate for a Masters in Coastal and Ocean Policy, and is set to graduate from the program this spring. He performed his undergrad at the Stony Brook University, earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Marine Science in 2012.
